Use the stats to your advantage!

For example…

In the New York Take Five drawings, look at the Odd vs. Even numbers drawn.

As of 9/13/07 these were the Odd vs. Even stats:
5749 Odd numbers drawn.
5566 Even number drawn.
5 Even / 0 Odd Drawings: 59
4 Even / 1 Odd Drawings: 299
3 Even / 2 Odd Drawings: 751
2 Even / 3 Odd Drawings: 736
1 Even / 4 Odd Drawings: 350
0 Even / 5 Odd Drawings: 68

The important statistic is the 3 Even / 2 Odd: 751 and 2 Even / 3 Odd: 736 stat. Telling you that you should be playing a 5 numbers set that has either 3 Even / 2 Odd, or 2 Even / 3 Odd.

  1. Does this site, or any you know of, keep track or have a program that would keep track of, the totals of the combines winning numbers drawn for the Take 5 NY loyttery ???

    For example, how many winning combinations totaled 100 ??? or 110??? or 90 ???

    It would seem that the majority of winning combinations should not only have 3/2/ odd/even, but there should be a number that your selectins should total ????

    ALSO, with all this into account, how many drawings have been won where no two numbers are next to each other, like 13,14 or 22,23 . This could improve your odds if it is known.

  2. Good question unclesalty.

    I’m not aware of any site the does either or both the ideas you have. And you are right, knowing the averages of both those sort of analysis scenerios would/should help improve your number selections.

    I’ll certainly look into writing a program that can mine the data and generate the results you are looking for. Would be good program to have on the site.

    I do this as a hobby and recently started a new job that required a 200 mile move, and takes up alot of mine time of late. So I can’t promise having any new programs online anytime soon.

    Both great ideas on your part though !

    Don’t know if you noticed but I added a “SUM” column to all the lottery results pages. The “full results” pages, like this one for Take Five: http://www.numbersplanet.com/take5/take5showall.php

    This is a sample of the last five Take Five drawings (Jan 16th date….) with the new SUM column/data/

    Good news, I was able knock out the code to generate the sum total data for Take Five. It’s now part of the New York Take Five homepage in the General Statistics section just below the Last 5 Drawing and Odd vs. Even Stats section.

    Here are the stats for New York Take Five as of 1/16/08 data.

    Range of SUM Total Averages
    The average SUM of the 5 drawn numbers over 2387 drawings is 100
    Range # of Times Range # of Times Range # of Times
    15-30 1 91-100 402 141-150 68
    31-60 123 101-110 370 151-160 34
    61-70 149 111-120 321 161-170 10
    71-80 248 121-130 230 171-180 0
    81-90 280 131-140 141 181-185 0
    NOTES:
    The minimum “sum” in a Take Five drawing is 15. 1,2,3,4,5 (1+2+3+4+5 = 15), which has happened 1 times in 2387 drawings.

    The maximum “sum” in a Take Five drawing is 185. 35,36,37,38,39 (35+36+37+38+39 = 185), which has happened 0 times in 2387 drawings.

    What to look for:
    When you add up the 5 numbers you play in Take Five, what is your “sum”?
    Is the “sum” total of the 5 numbers you play, in the same range as the range in the chart above that has the most # of times drawn?
